I don't give a D*** F

Last time a good friend of mine told me she likes my picture on twitter. She said it implies the attitude of "I don't give a d*** f****** care". Thanks to her I came up with a post, hahaha.

"Nobody can hurt me without my permission"

Above is a famous line from the famous Mahatma Gandhi. I have it on file since the day I don't remember when. I love collecting quotations and inspirational messages either from famous or unknown scholars.

Why am I writing about this? Maybe you're thinking I am in pain right now or is suffering from depression. Don't panic, cause I don't.  Coincidence also works in mysterious ways because when I go over the quote above, someone also educated me with a psychological fact (according to her) that "emotional pain only last for 12 minutes and anything after that is self inflicted". Ouch!

Ouch!!! Because I suddenly realized what I did to myself when I let people hurt me. I gave them the permission to take away years of my life.  I was a bad caretaker of myself.

But that was the case before when I have no control over my emotions. Now I choose to be proactive. I want to make the best out of those emotions, let them bring out the best in me by focusing on the lessons rather than the pains.  That doesn't mean I'm invulnerable.

Letting yourself feel the pain in a matter of time will help in easing the pain itself. Time will come you'll realized you're just punishing yourself by letting yourself sulk and you'll be encouraged somehow to get going and let bygones be bygones. It's just letting yourself cry when you have to and after letting the tears fall down, all that was left were clean eyes and a light heart.

for your viewing pleasure this is the picture
please bear with it.

  17. I saw that quote on Tumblr. I mean, the "Emotional pain only lasts for 12 minutes and anything after that is self-inflicted."

At first I thought it might be true but if you think about it, not really.

What you said was true, though. People only get hurt when they let things get to them. Best way to cope is to ignore. It's gonna be tough, yes, but that's the best way.

  18. hehe at last nakita ko rin face mo :DD

I can really relate on your post. But I just can't understand how can emotional pain last for only 12 minutes, was it just really me ever since? But anyway, feeling bad sometimes is good so we'd be able to appreciate life's simple pleasures.. GOD BLESS :D

  19. Na alarm naman ako pag kita ko ng blog post title mo sa blog roll ko. Hehe, I'm glad you're ok.

And I so agree with all the things that you have written here. Dati kasi super sensitive ako. And after reading the lines, "You don't have to please everybody" and "Everybody doesn't have to like you." I'm ok. At yung psychological fact, true din yun. Minsan iiyak ako kasi masakit pero after some time, feeling ko dramahan nlg yun. Hehehe. Proof na we could get over horrible things. :))

Good luck and God bless pala sa mga plans mo sa buhay. :)

  21. @Gnetch yes, it may be best to ignore those who hurt us though it's really hard. Never saw that quote on tumblr before

  22. @Kench Alegado haha, talagang mukha ko unang nakita, wink!

I don't know either, yun ang sabi sakin nung nagsabi, I'm still finding some proof though. You're right, tolerating the bad feeling is like letting depression strikes in, so that we'll learn to appreciate things.

  23. @Miss `Chievous na-touch naman ako ng sobra Ms. C. Thanks ng super. Yes, thanks for reminding me that we cannot please everybody and everybody doesn't have to like us. I'll take note of that. You made my mood lighter today.

  25. I don't often experience emotional pain but not until these past few weeks, I don't what to do but I don't want to cry, I was acting as if I'm brave enough to face it but then I can't, after those tears running down from eyes I feel relieved and realize that instead of getting sad of everything happened I just have to thanks God for those wonderful days we shared.

"We can't keep the happiness in ourselves coz that's an act of selfishness but we can give it to others"

  26. sorry, I'm so late to comment. I really like that quote. We only get hurt if the hurt to penetrate us.

Yes, ouch, I've been sadistic to myself too. haha..Continue to enjoy life sis. I know a lot of great things are happening to you and thank you for always transmitting positive energy into my life. :)
