Confession of a once in hiatus blogger

I have to make a confession. Aside from the fact that I am really busy, I lost the desire to blog about just anything. I thought I needed time to think so I stayed away for a while, maybe in that way I can sort things out. My busy work schedule, what is happening out there which made my world go round and not to mention why I lost interest with something I so love doing. But even on those quiet times when I stayed away from the blinking cursor, I had to admit that I really missed this thing called blogging and the people I've come to know called friends.

Where did the old time went? It dawned on me that one of the factors why I had a temporary distaste to share anything was because I am missing old folks who were also away right now: blog friends who are in hiatus and those who decided to quit for good alike (if in any case you're reading this, which I know you do, just want to let you know that I'm missing you).

Reality knocked me down. It's not blogging that I want to stay away with, it's the prying eyes. I know this fact ever since and it's a shame I let it take the best of me. Everytime I try to write something, they ended up on my drafts and they soon piled up. One proof that I want to share it but afraid to do so.

...............Until..................

One day, I realized that we're blogging for different purposes. Some wanted to share their thoughts while it's an outlet for others. One blogger once told me that I should always remember that I am also blogging for myself. When several people take interest of your writing, somehow you would feel happy but itchy and watchful as well. You would consider their feelings and thoughts, fearing that you would hurt someone unintentionally along the way or would cross the line somehow. But blogging is about respect too. Respect for other people's feelings and opinions. Bloggers have different genes and creative abilities and so as their way of sharing. With that I rest my case especially when I read the words below:

Each of us has a fire in our hearts burning for something.
It's our responsibility in life to find it and keep it lit.
This is your life and it's a short one.
Don't let others extinguish your flame.

  5. We all have our reasons why we blog and why some of us stop, it may be temporarily or permanently.

I'm with you Sey, nakakarelate ako sa lahat ng sinasabi mo sa blog na ito parang lahat ata ng gusto kung sabihin ay nasabi muna..=)

I so miss blogging just as I miss Ate Mayen, and of course you and Haze sa mga blog posts nyo. I felt connected with you kasi. Hope you stay as pretty as you are and you still look like Nikita. I miss the series and I'm waiting for the airing date.

Stay as you are Sey and don't stop sharing your wisdom with us.

  8. I am so happy to see an update from you! I guess once in a while we all need to have a short break. ako naman I'm still on break and I don't know till when but I will never quit blogging, I agree when you blog you also blog for yourself. Blogging is my one and only outlet whenever I feel that the world has abandoned me, this is where I can find peace and reflect.

It's okay to take a break sis but never stop blogging okay? :)

    Hugs dear♥

  9. I really like your thoughts on blogging. We all have personal reasons for sharing our thoughts and photos in blogland. We really can't (or shouldn't) worry about what others might want to hear of see.

  13. I feel the same, once a week na nga lang post ko, tamad at nagi-skip pa minsan. Pero ok lang yan Sey, dapat ini-enjoy ang blogging at di nagiging cause ng stress by forcing yourself to blog. While in hiatus here in the virtual world, be active and enjoy life in the real world. Yellow Monday Sey! :)

  15. Your blogger friend gave you great advice: blog for yourself first.

My blog is a place where I nourish myself, so keeping going is an easy choice.

  16. i guess it's just normal to lose interest in blogging once in a while. like in my case, i have to be in love with my life first before i get inspiration to blog. because as obvious as it is, i blog about my life. hahaha! :))

i miss your frequent posts and comments - along with mayen's, aiza's and kristeta's. grabe almost everyone is on hiatus. ako rin naman few weeks back. but obviously i'm back.

i'm blabbing too much on your comment box 'cos i miss you. hahaha! :))

  17. yes sey, first and foremost, blog for yourself. doing it for others only comes second, unless of course one is blogging for business.

and i couldn't agree more with what you said about respect. we all have our own reasons for blogging and each of us has a unique story to tell, but not everyone will agree with what we have to say. nonetheless, we still have to respect such differences because no two people will ever think alike.

great post, sey! take care and God bless <3 :-)

  20. Your friend was right, you should blog for yourself instead of blogging for people, unless making people happy is your motivation why you write. And I think just like anything else that we do in life, we need to take a break or else we'll get burned up. It's sad to hear that there are indeed bloggers who stopped blogging for good. I hope they'll find their way back to blogging world someday.
