My Antidote

The plague brought by the pessimistic virus has ended. But we should all be careful because it is contagious.

Walking is a great way to stimulate the endorphin,
the hormones that reduces pain and create pleasant feelings
(Tillman)

Back when I was  child (insert the tone of "Dance with my Father" here), I find walking as a great relief to my aching heart. This is one of the activities I am good at and I love doing it whenever my father's bicycle isn't around (yes folks, I learned cycling using my father's mountain bike).

I was clueless then why it gave such a relief, but now I am aware. Walking is my antidote to depression and stress. Sometimes I forgot that I have this antidote, besides who would remember if your mind is preoccupied. But in time, circumstances will find a way to remind me that in the midst of a chaotic situation I can leave the situation for a while to witness not only the therapeutic benefit of walking but also the wonders of nature. Yesterday, I did it again and look what I found; a piece of happiness from mother nature.

Wondering how this grass made it up
on the tree trunk... hmmm, silly grass, isn't it?

a new life is coming out from the tree. Amazing

These are simple things that most of us don't appreciate because our eyes are gaze on the far end of the world.  But if we will fix our eyes on what we have, we will discover that true happiness lies within ourselves and on everything that we have around us.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Rainy Days with a bit of Sunshine

It seems like it will rain in Manila today. Look at the picture below. This is the sight outside the window of our office. It's actually 5:40 in the morning when I captured this picture on my camera but I guess it doesn't look like it's morning isn't it?
Sun rays with rain clouds
What I intend to post is the view outside the building where our office is located however, I was amazed by the combination of sun rays and rain clouds over the sky. It's time to get our umbrellas ready, put on our jackets and be ready for the rainy season. Hooray!

Tomorrow, I'll show you the side of the building where "Manny Pacquiao" shoot the scene for a TV commercial in the Philippines.

The Moon and the Star

What a beautiful sight last Sunday, May 16, 2010 just the time after sunset, I was walking on the street from the market when I saw the wonderful  view of the moon with a crescent forming like a smile and a star just above it. It was reported in the television that the star is actually the planet Venus. It is called an occultation, the moon appears to pass close to Venus which is not impossible to happen since the moon and the planets share a similar apparent path in the sky but only few can observe since it usually happens after sunset and before dawn when people are starting to take a rest after a long day of labor.

Who said the moon and star couldn't be together? Well, I beg to disagree cause they just proved you wrong and I am glad I saw it.

Nice to be Back Home

Below are pictures taken from my way home to our 3 hour ride province from Manila. Captions are added for your reference. BTW, I went  home to participate in the 2010 Election., "see!!!" I am a responsible citizen.
Heavy traffic as we rode our way to the province. The other side of the road were the cars going Manila

This is my room in our house in the province. It's nice to be back home with the window widely open where I used to jump when my brother was chasing me because I poured cold water on him before taking a bath (LOL)

riding on a L300 van on our way back to Manila via SCTEX, a nice way to bond with nature.

A very long ride from home

these are the mountains which are also visible even at our home. And look at the sunset, simply amazing!

rice field near the the expressway and the mountains on the far sight

the intersection going left to Subic and right to Manila with the view of a nipa hut above the hilltop with 150 steps ( i thought)

on the right side is the way to Subic and turning left on the intersection would be the way home

an airplane which is about to take-off at Clark Air Base

Mount Arayat. When you're still viewing it, you could bet that you are still in Pampanga. BTW, this mountain has  natural spring water swimming pool at its foot.

first stop-over to have car check-up

A Tree Under The Tree

It's a boring day and no schedule for anything, so I grabbed the camera and walked on the park. I want to feel the nature again. The green color of the leaves and the different flowers are like uuhhhhh, can't find the right words to explain how I feel. I don't have any idea that this feeling would come to me that one day, I would truly appreciate nature at its simplest form, every pieces of it. Walking with God's creation around you is like walking with God himself, so relaxing.
While walking, I saw an "Acacia Tree" wondering why it looks a little pinkish from afar. I know the flowers of acacia are pink, however the flowers this time seem to be bigger and oh bigger. It totally caught my attention so I found myself walking near the tree. Wow, I saw a tree under the acacia tree and the flowers which I thought once belongs to the acacia are flowers of the tree under it (pardon me for using the word "tree"). I've taken 3 pictures again to show it from the smallest to the biggest image my camera could capture (pardon the pictures as well). You can click on the pictures to see a bigger image. Nature is really a wonderful blessing from God and I am glad that I am a fan of it now. I will end up today sharing a quotation from Anne Frank. The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens nature and God.
