Al's Eleven Questions

Today is March 12, 2012. It's just an ordinary day and yet would not be ordinary as I am patiently waiting for a promise to be fulfilled. Let's see, I still have few hours left. This day will render the verdict if promises were truly made to be broken. *Sigh

And speaking of promises, I made a promise to blogger friends that I will answer the questions they tagged me. It was long overdue, the fever has ceased but better late than never.I was tag four times and since I am seriously taking the questions at heart, I will post the answers separately.

Today, I will answer Al's questions, but before that I have to divulge 11 random things about myself. So here we go:

11 Random Things:
1.  I am more to salty food than sweets.
2.  I'm a history buff.
3.  I'm allergic to laundry soap, powder and detergent.
4.  I cannot sleep without a blanket no matter what the weather is. It's a requirement so now you know what to prepare just in case you would invite me for sleepover.
5.  I use 4 pillows when I sleep. I can still sleep with 1 but that's a struggle.
6.  I drink hot beverage when I woke up especially before taking a bath.
7.  I'm afraid of worms more than I fear heights.
8.  I was labelled to carrying my home inside my bag. It's huge man.
9.  I cannot leave home without my handkerchief.
10. I love playing Nancy Drew Games
11. I'm afraid of vaccines and anything that has to do with pricking my skin.

Breathe, okay let's move on with the questions, shall we?

1. What is your favorite and hated food and why?
-> I have a lot of favorite food but chicken is the most because I'm allergic to it. I hate beans, any kind of beans. I can't explain why.
2. If you were to sing in front of many people what song would you sing and why?
-> Me singing in front of people will never gonna happen. Trust me. But if you'll insist I'll sing "Through the Fire". Why? It's my first time so it should be memorable. So help me God.
3. (Fill in the blank) If I could just _________, and why? ....
-> love again, hahaha, joke. I'm clueless. Next question please...
4. Except from the one you truly love is there’s somebody that makes you feel special?
-> uhmm, maybe
5. (Fill in the blank again) This 2012 I promise I will ____ and I will not _____, and why?
-> This 2012 I promise I will Eat, Pray and Love and will not procrastinate.
6. 3 things you regret you did in 2011?
-> 1st Procrastinate, 2nd procrastinate and 3rd procrastinate.
7. 3 things you regret of not doing in 2011?
->  1. Live life to the fullest, 2. enjoy random stuffs  and 3. make the most of everything.
8. If you could make things right what would it be and why?
-> Everything happens for a reason. No changes necessary because lessons were learned.
9. In your own words… why do you think GOD HAS CREATED YOU?
-> Personally, I know and feel that God created me to be a blessing to my family (hahaha) but I am not contended with that. I know I can give more and that is what my journey is all about.
10. What is love for you?
-> It's overrated but yet it's magic. It rocks world. Right?
11. If given a chance to talk to your ex(s), what would say to them and why?
-> Hahaha, laugh, LOL. What can I say? I dunno. Good luck or maybe God bless. I'll cross the bridge when I get there.
One down 4 to go. Thanks for the questions Al. I had a great time answering them.

I got another Present from U.K.

I'm serious when I said that 2012 will be my year. We're only in the first quarter of the year but my lucky star is in proper alignment and it's sending me lots of blessings. Unlike the previous years when I was sour with giveaways, this year will be my turn. After I received the treats from TB, I won  Kris giveaway when her blog "Kalokang Buhay ng Isang Pinay sa Ukay" turned one. Sis Kris participated with the Snail mail project and like me she also loves the trip to the post office.

I should also thank little Poj, whom I adore so much for luckily picking my name. Thanks Poj!

On Valentines Day, I went straight to the post office after work to claim my parcel. A lot of things had happened before I finally got my gadget case from Cath Kidston which right now serve as the home for my phone. I almost went through thick and thin before I got it but I will save the whole story for another post because this one is a happy story and I don't want to spoil the fun.

Thanks again to Kris for the wonderful gift, wrapped carefully inside this bubble envelope
My gadget case which looks more adorable in person and fit perfectly with my phone.
I just so love it.
Came with the present is a card full of love. Wait till you opened it!!!
Tadaah, lots of stars inside, seems like dear sister Kris guessed that I love the stars.
Whatever pain I felt that day vanished upon seeing this.

What now?

Do you still remember how your blogging saga started?

For more than a week now, I am making my journey back to my old post, wondering what have I written in almost 3 years. Yeah, 3 years this coming February but it's not obvious. There are many bloggers out there who started their blogs just a year or a few months ago but their blogging success reaches the mountain top. I might have the same success if I created my blog for the sole purpose of earning online. But going back to my old post in like journeying back in time where my purpose in blogging was rekindled.

Truth be told, 3 years ago, I created this blog for the mere purpose of curiosity. I just wanted to know the feeling. How to do it and how it feels to own one even though I have no idea what to write. I can't even remember it's first name. As life goes on, I never did imagine that his space would be my solace in adversity. A place where I could vent my emotions. And going back to my old posts somehow made me happy because of the life I was able to give to every word I had written. Very spontaneous because it reflects my life, my feelings though not obscure because I do not seek pity when I'm down.

And today, another day to pour my heart's content. As I continue with this journey for the love of writing, I sometimes found my brain empty of words and my heart void of interest. And today I found the culprit for my dilemma, it's the fact that I lost the soul of my post, waiting for heaven to bestow me with a topic to write instead of wring my heart out.

I gained great friends through this space and this space will continue to be like how it started - the home of my thoughts. If ever comes a time that I am serious with earning online which is by this time I have no idea how to put to life (if you have idea let me know), I will put up another blog.

What now? I will continue this journey together with the great friends I found while reminiscing the days  how our great friendship started. Felicity isn't it?

A royal mail for the holiday

Warning: This is a post Christmas post. Not that I'm lazy but because I don't want to let the spirit of the season go. At least not yet. I'm still nostalgic with the food, decorations, gifts, the presence of family members and the comfort of home.

Rewind: on the second week of December, something came in the mail for me from the land of the kings and queens. At first I couldn't believe the fact though I'm already holding it on my hand. I'm way totally awed to received something from the place I long wanted to visit. It's a double intense feeling because I know it's not just a Christmas card,  there's little pieces of happiness inside.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves of how great this dear card is. Of course goosebumps and bliss to realize that snail mail is not yet gone. Thanks sis Kris for making my Christmas extra special. If you wanna experience the life in UK though you're not there, visit Kris' blog, Kalokang Buhay ng Isang Pinay sa UKay  and be struck with the cakes she bake, the Legoland and bits and pieces of their life in the UK.

my first card from UK - first - as though anticipating for more to come (hahaha)

lovely message full of love.
Wouldn't your heart skip a beat to see the handwriting of a friend you've come to know while blogging?
Now when I read Kris' blog, it's though I am seeing her handwriting legibly scribbled on the page.

as promised - sorry for the picture's poor quality

little happiness with the card - additional collections and a great idea for the wrapper.
THUMBS UP!

Dear Kris: Thanks for the happiness, card,  greetings, wishes, the stamps
and for the wonderful friendship that just crossed the boundaries of the blogging world.
I will be forever grateful.

From the Bottom of My heart

2_ years ago, on this same day,  my mother risked her life to bring one child to existence and that child is no other than me.

I was sitting quietly on my station, reading posts with no intentions of posting anything. I am always lost for words on a special day like this. But this awesome man made may day. He declared a holiday at Once Acre of Diamond county and today, Once Acre of Diamond will be 14th Street. Not to mention the wonderful combination of the banners.

"A happy Heart deserves a Happy Treat"

and from the bottom of my heart,

Thank you very much, You made my day!!!

Respect begets Respect

At this certain point in time, I still don't know how you we're able to read my words on your computer screen (thanks for reading). I had a notion that words are being transported from my computer wires to internet cables right through your monitor (and that's literal!! I'm such an idiot)

What will happen if the World Wide Web (www) would crush right now? That is what I am asking to a friend on a letter I wrote the other week. It didn't bother me because I can still meet her because we're friends and I know where she lives. Sorry, I didn't ask, I wished, (sorry again, don't kill me people). I just want to feel the old world when we communicate through snail mail. Simply amazing I guess, or maybe I was just saddened by the fact that I don't know where to collect stamps. Booo (me and not you)!

But on second thought, how about the online friendship that I was able to established to the people from different parts of the globe, people from all walks of life, old and young, poor and rich, average (i don't want to use the word ugly) and beautiful. Going back to the world wide web crushing, I am taking my wish back (palabra de honor - que barbaridad). I don't wanna loose connections to you people who had showed great respect to my thoughts and respected me for who I am (*wink*, *cry*, *smile*, *high five*)

My heart beats fast whenever you mentioned me in your post (that's highly appreciated).   I am amazed how we, people with different views found our common denominator and meet halfway.

This blog made me reach the other end of the world. I was overwhelmed with wonderful people both foreign and locals, half Filipinos and others who accepted me without criticisms and most of all are not racist.  For that I am thankful.

I respect you beyond imagination, whether you are blogging anonymously. I don't care if you're using your real name or not, sharing pictures or not. Whatever is the voice of your blog, when I followed, I see the good in your house (i mean your blog).

OH gosh this is way too long than I expected........when all I want you to know is that I RESPECT YOU ALL. thanks! bow!

Happy 2nd Year Anniversary

Yes, it is and as I barely noticed it, today marks the 2nd yead Anniversary of 14th Street. Started out on February 2009, with the simple intention of releasing the stress that is becoming too heavey for me to carry then. Before writing this, I visited my old posts and a smile was painted on my face. Oh boy, I'm still standing and I can't believe it.
This blog served as a gateway for me to discover that the world has so much to offer. I've made new friends from all over the world. Some I haven't meet yet, but looking forward to that day when I could finally travel and see them. Nice friends who are so supportive and awesome individuals I called "Blogger Friends".

This is the right time to commend you for your greatness and for joining me through this journey. Thanks for the encouraging emails, letters and love you shown....which is a proof that this world is still a better place to live in.
