She broke her heart

"Everytime your heart was broken,
a doorway cracks open to a world full of new beginnings,
new opportunities"
-Patti Roberts

That's one of the thoughts I hold on to, when mine (heart) was badly broken. Brought not by courage or rational thinking but rather driven by the necessity to move on with life.

But that's not the case for everyone. When the very organ that sustains life is put to test, the bearer can take various actions: either mend it or let it rot cell by cell. And when you chose to mend it, different actions can be taken. You can apply what was said above and explore new horizons or even distract yourself with a new love prospect. It works in some ways and it worked for me once but not always. It's a case to case basis.

When a friend of mine had her heart broken, she resorted to diverting her attention to a new love prospect. Not bad, I know. The only thing she did wrong was rushing things, like plucking a young mango fruit from the tree out of excitement without thinking that the fruit will rot in a short span of time. No matter how we tried to persuade her to take things slow and give her heart an ample time to heal, she did it anyway. Needless to say, everything didn't quite went well so this time, I thought she broke her heart. The hardest part now is to repair the heart which is dealing with two heartbreaks.

Long story short, what will you expect from a relationship when both parties hadn't had the chance to know each other and accept each other's differences. It's like hunting for a unicorn in the deep blue see.

I don't want to go into details but I shared the story anyway so others could benefit from it. While such things worked for others it may not work for you so better be careful with your decisions. And it's better to mend your broken heart naturally, let time heal all wounds and believe me when I say, you will be proud of yourself in the end. It's like reaching the heights of Mt. Everest.

And remember, love is like a mango fruit. You have to wait for the right time, so you can enjoy the sweetness it has to offer.

The Two Sides of Our Stories

Two of your friends had a great deal of misunderstanding. Friend number 1 is known to be clever and naughty while friend number 2 is conservative and silent. Whom will you take side with? Who will you believe, when each of them had their own version of the story? Would you believe the witness who sworn they saw what had happened? Or to make the situation lighter, let's say your friend had a fight with a stranger. I know most of us including me will eagerly defend our comrade without any questions. Would you believe your friend? I bet that's a YES!

What do you see?
an old woman?
or
an elegant lady?

Like this optical illusion, every event/situation were foretold with different version. We as human beings were bound to take sides as to what we knew was right and who we taught is holy or good. But did it ever came to you that somehow when we make judgement we sometimes mistakenly go on the wrong position because we only believe on what our bare eyes could see plus our hearts dictates that we should side here or there out of love.

I just realized no matter how long you knew someone, everyone is capable of telling fallacies. Do you know when court verdicts were served properly or justice was denied to the innocent? Would friends defy friends? NO. Will family sacrifice their clans' moral? of Course Not! That is what I'm taking about.

Like everyone else, I am also prone to making false judgment. What I am trying to point is let us not indulge with our self-belief and drown ourselves to impurities when there is way to make things right.

What is wrong is wrong and what is right is right. No excuses! Evaluate the 2 sides of the story and never judge outright. Cause people we are, were bound to mistakes and only HIM up there knows what truly happened.

Salt and Pepper

Due to the nature of my job and it's requirements we are now nocturnal beings, like owls and bats. Switching night and day for almost two years now, things seems to be normal for me and my colleagues thought there some advantages and disadvantages. To sum up some, please refer to the list below:

Advantages:

  • Long rest day from Saturday morning till Monday night (exactly 9:59 pm)
  • High salary compared to day jobs
  • Add the benefit of a night differential pay, allowance and other fringe benefits
  • Less exposure to the deadly UV rays from the sun brought by the depletion of the ozone layer
  • Learn a lot of stuffs about computers (due to the nature of the business) and other facts from other countries plus other crazy thoughts which might be helpful sometimes (but not most of the time)
Disadvantages:
  • Big eye bags brought by inconsistency of sleeping hours
  • Being caught in the middle of the traffic in the morning while the rest of the country rush off to work
  • Less time bonding with friends because of different time schedules
  • Taking extra doze of medicines so that your body could cope up with the stress
  • Being stuck with the fancy foods (as I fondly called them) of fast food chains (yaiks) which is the reason why I came up with this topic for today.
I'm so sick with the foods we are eating during break hours. Name a meal and we tried it, almost familiar with the menu's of each place, eating the same thing over and over again. It's like you're eating a not so real and not so good food.

My depleting appetite scares me. I am becoming so thin and it's not good since I need extra energy and have to keep myself fit for the job which I could say I really love. I urge myself to search for some easy to cook healthy meals recipe's over the internet and browse over food blogs. What I needed are foods which are healthy, easy to cook and the ingredients are available and can be found even in the market here.

With all the websites that I visit like Video Jug salt and pepper are two seasonings which were always used
with all the food preparation. Do you guys noticed that they are totally opposite? Salt is white and pepper is black. But how come when both added to a certain meal their taste seems to complement each other. Isn't it amazing? And I admit I love them both like when eating a porridge, pizza, pasta, pancit and more. I hope you don't find me crazy though. I also love the taste of "pringles" with the salt and pepper flavor.

But this wouldn't be about mere foods only. Salt and Pepper teaches a lesson sometimes we cannot see because we're not paying attention to it or maybe because they are too ordinary. In my recent post about th movie fireproof Michael talked to Caleb regarding the later's marriage to a woman he thought to be different from him. Michael used salt and pepper to explain that choosing a partner never rely on how many similarities and differences you have but on deep respect and love for each other and completing each other's shortcomings.

See? Sometimes the best person for us is the complete opposite of ourselves who can fill out the emptiness and acknowledge the differences yet ready to accept.

Movie Marathon

Hey, I just sneak early this morning to the nearest computer shop. I had a movie marathon yesterday to ease my mind of the pain of prolonged nostalgia. I just want to share the lessons I learned from the movies:

1. Transporter 2
Lesson: Don't make promises you can't keep
Give other people the time and respect they deserve

2. I Spy
    Lesson: Don't trust too much

3. UP
    Lesson: Perseverance, spirit and adventure

4. The Princess and the Frog
    Lesson: Looks can deceive

By the way, while browsing the net, I also came up to this site with a topic entitled How To Move On From a Breakup which gives advice on how to put your relationship behind you in a healthy and appropriate way. You've got to see it, it'll help.
